Grants for Community Choirs

Definition: Grants are monetary gifts given in partial or full support of the activities, events or projects of community choral organizations. For the purpose of these grants community choirs shall be defined as those community based choirs not associated with a school, religious or for-profit organization. By providing limited financial support, it is hoped that these organizations may find creative and educational ways to improve and grow. ACDA-PA is not responsible for either the planning or financial success of supported activities, events or organizations.

Members of ACDA-PA are eligible to submit a proposal for a Grant. There are two exceptions: Current Board Members and those choirs receiving Pa Council on the Arts grants.

Grants up to $500 will be paid directly to the sponsoring organization. They must be used within the fiscal year they were requested. ACDA-PA is not responsible for any loss or entitled to any profit from these events.

Grants must fall within one of the following categories

    1. Grants made by Regional or R&S Chairperson - funded by Chairperson's annual budget. ($100 - $150)
    2. Special grants made by ACDA-PA and approved by the Board of Directors in response to a special need or situation (Amounts may vary as budgets permit.)

For example, grants could be awarded for:

      • Commissions of new works
      • Educational opportunities (guest clinicians or conductors)
