ACDA-PA Region Chairs

Job Responsibilities

The primary function of the region chair is to provide for the recruitment, care, and professional development of members in a geographical area of the state.

Recruitment:

  1. Region chairs will be provided with membership lists of active and inactive members by the state membership chair.  The region chair will contact those people who have not renewed their membership to regain their active status.
  2. Region chairs should have a working vocabulary of the benefits of joining ACDA that are different than other professional organizations, and should use that language to promote membership.
  3. Region chairs will be responsible for organizing activities and events, both formal and informal, that are intended to actively seek out new ACDA-PA members.

 

Community:

  1. Region chairs should select 2 or 3 members to assist them in the development of a regional network of choral directors who will support the needs of the region.
  2. Region chairs will be responsible for organizing activities and events, both formal and informal, that are intended to foster a sense of community among choral directors of the region.

 

Professional Development:

  1. Region chairs are encouraged to liaison with state R&S chairs to create activities and events relevant to the regional membership.
  2. Region chairs should seek out opportunities for members to engage in dialogue and foster life-long learning. 
  3. Region chairs will be responsible for organizing activities and events, both formal and informal, that are intended to promote professional development.
