Repertoire and Standards - High School Choirs
Dear High School Choral Music Colleagues,
It is an honor to serve as Repertoire and Standards Chairperson for High School Choirs in our wonderful state. I have been teaching choral music at Central Bucks High School-West in Doylestown for the past twenty years. During this time I have attended numerous conventions and seen hundreds of performances of high school choirs from around the country. I have always tried to create great experiences for my own students by giving them the widest possible range of repertoire. I will be sharing some of this with you soon and hope that you will feel free to share suggestions as well.
I would like to bring high school directors in our state closer together. The work that is being done in our schools by great conductors, like you, is remarkable. If we can share ideas as well as support and encourage each other we will all benefit and so will our students. I will be looking for ways to make this happen.
If there is anything that I can do to serve you please let me know. If you see a need that should be addressed I would like to hear about it. I hope you all have a relaxing and beautiful summer and I hope to see many of you at the Summer Conference in August.
Sincerely,
Joseph Ohrt, DMA Director of Choral Activities Central Bucks High School-West 375 West Court Street Doylestown, Pennsylvania 18901 johrt@cbsd.org
