We invite you to join us for a series of workshops with renowned choral clinician, Dr. Rollo Dilworth from Temple University. Dr. Dilworth will be in residence on the Lehigh Valley March 28 – 30, presenting sessions that will inspire you as you prepare for the home stretch of the school year!
Allentown School District and Bel Canto Youth Choir singers will comprise a lab chorus for Dr. Dilworth to work with on Saturday. Dr. Dilworth’s presentations will be applicable for teachers of all students, elementary through high school.

Choral Kaleidoscope is a professional development event exploring the multi-faceted choral educators, conductors, and church musicians! This year’s guest clinician, Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt, Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto, will present engaging sessions on rehearsal technique, podium leadership, and a conducting masterclass with the Duquesne Voices of Spirit. Dr. Caron Daley, Director of Choral Activities at Duquesne University, will lead sessions on movement in the choral rehearsal and re-tooling your conducting gesture.

If you have a colleague who is doing extraordinary work or who has left a legacy of choral excellence that should be remembered and recognized, please take a moment to recognize their contributions.
The Elaine Brown Award for Choral Excellence highlights the accomplishments of a veteran choral director who exemplifies outstanding work in the choral art.
The Outstanding Young Conductor Awardrecognizes the efforts of a new or aspiring choral director who, in their first 3 to 5 years of experience has already demonstrated outstanding leadership or musicianship in the field of choral music.
The Eileen M. Hower Memorial Award is presented in honor of Eileen M. Hower, gifted choral musician and choral educator.

College and University Members Take Note!
The 8th annual Undergraduate Conducting Competition is now receiving applications for participants. The event takes place in conjunction with the annual ACDA-PA Fall Choral Conference in October at Lincoln University.
Any ACDA member teaching at a college or university in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is eligible to submit ONE undergraduate student nominee for the conducting competition. Only the faculty member MUST be a current member of ACDA. For additional information, please visit

ACDA-PA invites proposals for interest sessions to be presented during the 2:45-3:45 hour at the Fall Conference on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Sessions should be one hour in length and can be on any topic related to choral music. These could include, but not be limited to: repertoire, conducting, warmups, rehearsal techniques, vocal health, commissioning, and advocacy.
To be considered as a presenter, please submit a proposal using the link below. Proposals should be submitted by October 1, 2018.
It is understood that ACDA-PA will not assume financial responsibility for travel, registration, food, or lodging for presenters or interest session participants. Submitting a proposal implies that the presenter is prepared to travel and present at the conference if accepted.
