Craig G. Cannon is the recipient of the 2017 Elaine Brown Award for Choral Excellence, the highest award for choral music excellence from the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Choral Directors Association, awarded to an individual for outstanding lifelong work in the choral arts. Cannon’s nomination, submitted by colleague Marvin Huls, describes Craig’s wonderful contributions to choral music, recognized at so many levels. These include high school, college, community, young singers, church, ACDA involvement, and PMEA.

Dear ACDA Members, I personally invite you to attend our upcoming fall conference. It's a busy time of year, but I guarantee, this conference will be a very special one. Internationally-renowned choral clinician, Bob Chilcott, is our invited guest. Bob's music is heard world-round - it's fresh and effervescent quality lifts choirs to the next level! I am conducting his "Little Jazz Mass" for a November concert, and the choir simply delights in this music. Apart from his brilliant compositional talent, Bob is a charismatic clinician. His positive and upbeat personality will inspire and recharge you! Our conference performances also promise to delight us! Our four invited choirs are exceptional ensembles. And the Pennsylvania Collegiate Choral Festival choir, with guest conductor Dr. Mary Breden, will finish off our conference with a bang! Take some time this November to join us, even for a day. We are eager to support your choral work and to help connect choral professionals across the entire state. Registration information can be found below. See you there, Caron Daley, President-Elect |
